Bridging Law, Innovation, and Community

The Intellectual Property Brief (IP Brief) is an online journal run by the law students of the American University, Washington College of Law. The IP Brief is devoted to publishing scholarly works, articles, and content on intellectual property law.

We welcome discussions on copyright, trademark, patent law, and trade secrets, together with the evolvement of technology, telecommunications, privacy, and cybersecurity. The IP Brief also covers case law emerging from the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

We are proudly situated in Washington, D.C. Our annual networking opportunities serve as a forum for students, practicing lawyers, and academics to connect with the wider intellectual property community.

The IP Brief publishes two major issues every academic year. We accept submission on a rolling basis.
